I offer a full range of digital training services to individuals, small businesses, and organisations. Although there is much material to be found online and in text books, sometimes it is quicker and easier to learn by demonstration and practice.
Examples of the type of digital training I provide are below. This is not a comprehensive list. Please contact me if there is an area not mentioned that you would like help with. All my training is charged at my hourly rate of £40 per hour.
WordPress powers millions of websites around the world. Its popularity and scale are likely to mean that it will continue to be a leading website technology for many years to come. I offer two types of training:
1) Step By Step Training On Creating A Website
Would you like to learn the basics of web design, from purchasing a website address to managing your own website or blog? I provide a full introduction to website hosting, domain configuration, wordpress installation, web design, and content management.
If you would like a website for your business, this may not be the best approach for you. In this instance, it can be cheaper to have a website built for you rather than to learn how to do it yourself (option 2 may be more relevant).
2) Coaching On Specific Aspects Of WordPress Development
Do you have a WordPress website but want to take it a step further? Perhaps you work for an organisation that already uses WordPress? Learning how to use your WordPress website can be time consuming. A little WordPress coaching can fast track your learning, allowing you to focus on the content you want to create, rather than struggling with understanding the technology.
MailChimp is a very popular service for sending out emails and newsletters to large mailing lists. Whether you are organising a club, school, or business, having a mailing list is one of the best ways of keeping in touch.
MailChimp makes it easy to send out well presented emails and newsletters whilst managing your mailing list, and keeping it secure. It also allows mailing list members to manage their own preferences, like subscribing to topics, or even opting out of your list.
I can provide assistance in setting up a MailChimp account, and coaching on how to get the most out of it.
For businesses, the central question is often what role does social media have in the marketing and sales plan. Having established this, the next step is learning the skills to implement the plan successfully. I can provide assistance helping businesses understand what opportunities exist for their business in social media, the level of effort involved, and how this can be implemented.
I am also very happy to help anyone just wanting to learn more about the basics of using LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.,from setting up social media profiles, keeping personal information secure, posting content, and how to build social connections.
Do you need well shot product photography for your website? Are you a keen blogger, or creating content for your organisation? Good photos can transform your website and blog posts.
If you regularly need photos, than it is much cheaper to learn the skills yourself. I provide coaching on both shooting and editing photos, and how to add these to your website.
Producing professional quality videos can be expensive. To create high quality videos yourself, you will need good lighting, sound capture, and video recording. Hiring a professional to create a video for you can be cost prohibitive.
I offer coaching on how to get the most out of equipment you already have, including techniques that are suited to the equipment you own. Practising shooting and editing video is the best way of learning, allowing you to become confident in your skills before deciding on future investments in kit.
I am very happy to discuss any particular topics that you would like help with, whether it is accessing email on your mobile phone, adding a professional signature to business email, or video conferencing with clients. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
